This is just a quick update to let you know where we’re at with painting our cabinets. I’ll post a full how-to when we completely finish the project. Oh, as you can see, we’ve mostly refilled the cabinets. I’m 99.99% sure I won’t get paint on anything.

We’re using Glacier White by Benjamin Moore. It’s part of the off-white collection. We’re using the ADVANCE paint formula as well – we hear it’s really great for cabinet painting. Oh, and we went with a semi-gloss finish for a touch of extra durability.

I’m painting them much like I primed them – using an angled brush to get into the corners, the smoothing it out with a high density foam roller. Thin, even coats. But here’s the catch: ADVANCE requires 16 hours between each coat. And given that I’m doing this in the evenings after work and there are 25 doors/drawers and all the cabinets to paint…it’s taking a while. We’ll get there soon enough!

Have you started any projects that are taking longer than you thought? We knew it would be a solid two weeks, but whew, it seems longer than that!
