I’m attempting to recover from Haven Conference, which was equal parts exhausting and exhilarating. I’m sure I’ll be DRAGGING the next few days, which gives you an idea of how much fun those three days were! I’ll have a recap later this week (I have so many business cards, I’ll be catching up on blogs for the next ten years).

Until then, enjoy the 31 days of July in less than 300 words!

The Deck

July was a very rainy month in North Carolina, and as soon as it stopped raining, the temperature went UP. So we’re at a brief pausing point after getting familiar with a crowbar, laying new boards and cutting stringers. We have a surprisingly mild week ahead of us, so I’m thinking railing is in our future.

The Living Room Saga

I didn’t realize how much we did in the living room until I look back at the posts. HELLO I FINALLY FINISHED A FRAME COLLAGE! Generously pats self on the back.

In addition to finishing that two hour project that took seven months, we upgraded the blinds throughout the entire house (inspired by particularly gross blinds in the living room) and found a beautiful ottoman at Joss and Main that met my lofty ottoman requirements. Oh, and we fessed up to the really unfortunate areas of the living room…eek.

Antique Dresser

We bought it for $30 and brought sexy back. Yum.

BONUS!

Mumford & Sons released a new music video. At first I thought it was a parody, but when I realized M&S actually hired out the four comedians to essentially mock how EMOTIONNAAALL M&S can get, I was impressed. Self-awareness, y’all. It doesn’t hurt that Will Forte, Jason Sudeikis, Jason Bateman and Ed Helms are quite amusing with everything they do. Enjoy!

How was your July? Any fun vacations?
