Winner, winner, chicken dinner! When I was at Haven in August, Thompson’s WaterSeal was raffling off Adirondack chairs. And guess who won a pair?

This girl!

Yeah, I posted that on Instagram a while ago. I was living in the beach in my living room. Why? Because I can.

I was REALLY tempted to paint them. Like, really tempted. But I couldn’t decide on a color, so I decided to go classic with a stain. Now they’re sitting pretty on the deck.

The chairs arrived packed in separate boxes, with instructions for assembly. Well, two chairs with two people? I couldn’t help myself. I had to have a little competition.

And since this photo shows my husband still working on his chair, guess who finished assembling their chair first? Haha. I give all credit to the IKEA furniture in my life – without you, I’d never be this good at assembling furniture with nonsensical instructions (though, real talk, IKEA instructions make more sense than the instructions this came with).

So, back to the staining. I’m so embarrassed about this, but here it goes: even though I won these courtesy for Thompson’s WaterSeal, I…didn’t…stain them…with Thompson’s WaterSeal…Ooops. Well, not oops really. I would have bought some, but I have SO MUCH stain leftover from previous projects in my craft closet, I had to use what I already owned. And I happened to have a stain + sealant in one, which saved an application of a water repellant.

So, big thanks to Thompson’s WaterSeal and Lady Luck. I absolutely love these new Adirondack chairs! I have a side table and some clearance pillows from Lowe’s that I snagged…just need to get the deck style and take some photos. Oh, and obviously have a party, because the deck is just BEGGING to entertain people.
